BLANCHE GIBSON WILLIAMS KITCHEN 

        MRS. KITCHEN DIES 

  Suffolk, March 17. - Mrs. Blanche Williams Kitchen, 74, widow of J.H. 
Kitchen, of Courtland, Va., died here today.  She is survived by four 
daughters, Misses Mabel, Irene, Bessie and Gibson Hunter [sic; Kitchen], of 
Enfield, N.C.; [one son, [J. Hinton Kitchen; and three sisters,] Mrs. W.N. 
Thornton and Mrs. J.E. Whitfield, of Courtland, and Mrs. W.J. Briggs, of 
Smithfield, N.C. 

  The body will be taken to Courtland for burial.  Funeral services will be 
conducted by the Rev. Winfield Shiers and will be held at the grave in 
Riverside Cemetery, Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock.

Her father (1838 - 1891) was a Confederate veteran, having served as a
