Holland and Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. Harold C. Lewis. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Courtland. Pallbearers were Clayton Whitehead, David R. Kitchen Jr., George T. Kitchen Jr., Ben E. Babb, Harwood Babb, Walter White Cobb, Henry O. Scott and Donald Kitchen. A native of Southampton County, he was the husband of Mrs. Betty Blythe Kitchen and a son of the late William and Mrs. Elizabeth Yeates Kitichen. He was a farmer and member of Courtland Baptist Church and Sebrell Ruritan Club. Besides his widow, surviving are a daughter, Mrs. William H. Carr, Jr. of Zuni; two sons, William N. Kitchen III and Godwyn T. Kitchen Jr. of Courtland; two sisters, Mrs. Frances Joyner of Handsom and Mrs. Lillian Slaven of Suffolk; three brothers, J.O. W. Kitchen of Courtland, and George T. Kitchen of Franklin; and four grandchildren.
