HERBERT LEE KITCHEN

HERBERT L. KITCHEN

   Funeral services for Herbert L. Kitchen, 70, well known farmer of the 
Berlin- Ivor community were conducted this (Thursday) afternoon at 2:30 
o'clock in the Millfield Baptist Church by the pastor, Rev. C.E. Gerringer. 

   Mr. Kitchen, husband of Mrs. Sadie Wilkinson Kitchen of Ivor, died at his 
home on Tuesday night, October 29, after an illness of several days.  He was 
the son of the late James Thomas and Mrs. Rebecca Stephenson Kitchen of 
Southampton county.  He was a member of Millfield Baptist Church, where he 
served faithfully for many years. 

   In addition to his wife, he is survived by one nephew, Winston Camp of 
Ivor.  Burial was in the church cemetery.*  Active pallbearers were Raby 
Cornwell, Roy Cornwell, T.H. Gray, Dr. Kasper  Kaufman, Harvey Stephenson, 
J.P. Raiford, Garland M. Davis and Edgar V. Stephenson.  Deacons of Millfield 
Baptist Church served as honorary pallbearers.
