All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ HENRY LAWTON KITCHEN Henry Lawton Kitchen, 45, husband of Virgie Whitehead Kitchen and a prominent farmer of the Sedley community died in a Richmond hospital Sunday, April 7, after an illness of a few weeks. A son of the late Henry L. and Virgie Brittle Kitchen, of Southampton County he died less than a month after his father. Mr. Kitchen, who was a member of Barrett’s Christian Church, is survived by his wife and a number of uncles and aunts. Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. C.E. Gerringer and the Rev. B.H. Watkins, was conducted at the home near Sedley Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. Interment was in the family cemetery.* Active pallbearers were: W.E. Parsley, N.M. Taylor, Cedric Pittman, M.R. Bryant, Lester Cornwell, Rufus Drewry, W.L. Whitehead and C.W. Kitchen. It is unclear when (or if) they were moved. Presumably, this was where Henry Sr. & Jr. were buried.
