For some time she had been in poor health but bore her affliction patiently, and when death came she quietly fell asleep. To her family and friends she was devoted and she always manifested a gentle, humble spirit. A kind neighbor has been taken from us, a good woman has gone to her reward. There were two brothers and three sisters, predeceased. The members of the family who know survive are S.B. and H.L. Kitchen of Sebrell; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Rebecca Kitchen of Berlin; four nieces and six nephews. Amid a host of friends, burial services were conducted at the family cemetery, where the body was laid to rest. The pallbearers were J. Clyde Wellons, E.M. Rollings, A.F. Rollings, J.E. Ellsworth, Stanley Morris, Mr. Woodard.
