A native of Southampton County, she was a daughter of Mrs. Dorothy and Will R. Kitchen and a third grade student of Wakefield Elementary School. Besides her parents she is survived by a brother, Will Jr., paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. R.J. Kitchen; and maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. S.R. Stringfield of Elberon. A funeral service was conducted Monday at 2:30 p.m in Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, by the Rev. Edward B. Owen and the Rev. R.B. Garnett. Burial was in Ivor cemetery. Pallbearers were Robert Rawls, Russell West, E.V. Stephenson, Jr., John Faircloth, Jr., Peyton Kea and Fred Ashby.
