William Kissinger and the Rev. Donald R. McNair. Burial was in Tucker Swamp Church cemetery near Zuni. Pallbearers were M.M. Holt, Jimmy Phillips, J.B. Bowden, Guy Lilley, Willard Peden, Lonnie Umphlette, Gurney Britt, Martin Britt, Moody Mumford and Bobby Crumpler. A native of Sussex County, he was a retired Isle of Wight County farmer. He was a son of Winfield Richard and Mrs. Mollie Andrews Kitchen and the husband of the late Mrs. Lillian Joyner Kitchen. He was a member of Tucker Swamp Baptist Church. Surviving are three sons, Billy Lee Kitchen of Courtland, James E. Kitchen of Portsmouth, and D. Wayne Kitchen of Zuni; and 10 grandchildren.
