All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ EDWARD ALTON KEETER Edward Alton Keeter, 57, a well-known farmer of the Franklin community residing in Isle of Wight County, died early Tuesday morning, June 13, at McGuire General Hospital, Richmond, after a short illness. A veteran of World War I, he was the son of the late Oliver and Mrs. Maggie Morris Keeter of Franklin. He was a member of the Franklin Congregational Christian Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lelia Brock Keeter of Franklin; two sons, Frank R. Keeter of Franklin; and Pvt. Edward D. Keeter, USMC, stationed at Camp Lejeune, N.C.; four brothers, Willie F., Charlie and Philip Keeter, all of Franklin, and Marvin Keeter of Trenton, N.J.; two sisters, Mrs. Otis Lamb, also of Trenton, and Mrs. Hazel Franklin of Seattle, Wash.; and several nieces and nephews. Services for Mr. Keeter were conducted at the grave in Poplar Spring Cemetery on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock by his pastor, Rev. W.A. Grissom. Pallbearers were Robert Rideout, Albert Wartlaw, Floyd Wall, Jr., Claudia Wall, J.T. Joyner, Gardner Cobb, Fenton Cobb and Joseph Fowler.
