All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ OLIVER AUGUSTUS KEETER Oliver Augustus Keeter, 81, resident of Franklin for more than 40 years, died Monday morning in Raiford Hospital after having fallen some weeks ago and breaking both legs. Mr. Keeter was the husband of the late Mary Bradshaw of this county, and the son of the late William and Odelia Dickens Keeter of North Carolina. Surviving him are five sons, W.F. Keeter, Eddie Keeter, Marvin and Charlie Keeter, all of Franklin and Philip Keeter of Carrsville; two daughters, Mrs. Otis Lambe of Jamesburg, N.J., and Mrs. Howard Franklin of Seattle, Washington; three brothers, Roscoe, Ralph and Emmette Keeter, of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Allen of Norlina, Mrs. Lillian Peace of Roanoke Rapids, and Mrs. Grace Collier of Littleton, N.C. Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. R.D. Stephenson and the Rev. John Batkins, were held Tuesday afternoon at 4 o’clock at Beaver Dam Baptist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Wilson Holland, Louis Brett, F.E. Howell, W.J. Bradshaw, Lew Blythe, W.E. Lowe, Robert Simmons and L.R. Jones.
