Holland & Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. G. Arthur Knauer and the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins. Burial was in Southampton Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Rossie Brock, Lawrence Goodman, Dennis Lamb, Frank Lee, Tommy Outland and Willie Darden. Keeter died Sunday morning in Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin. A native of Isle of Wight County, he was a son of Oliver and Mrs. Mollie Bradshaw Keeter and the husband of Mrs. Dorether Darden Keeter. He was a member of Franklin Baptist Church. Before retirement he owned and operated Keeter Taxi and was a farmer. Besides his widow, surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Mary Alma Young of San Antonio, Tex., Mrs. Lois C. Young of Windsor, Mrs. Phyllis Story of Carrsville, and Mrs. Margaret Bowden of Zuni; a son, Phillip Lee Keeter, Jr. of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Mrs. Thelma Lamb of Jamestown, N.J. and Mrs. Hazel Franklin of Bellingham, Wash.; a brother, Marvin Keeter of Englishtown, N.J.; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
