KELLO, CLUB, CIVIC LEADER, DIES COURTLAND - Mrs. Edith Johnson Kello, 59, civic, church and club leader here, died in a Richmond hospital Monday after two days’ illness. The widow of J. Richard Kello, Jr., she was a daughter of Frank H. and Addie Everett Johnson of Nansemond County. She was a member of Capron Methodist Church and its Woman’s Society of Christian Service, Eastern Star Southampton Chapter 68 and Sebrell Woman’s Club. Surviving are two sons, J. Richard Kello III of Courtland and Robert F. Kello of Shelby, N.C.; two daughters, Mrs. J.J. Nunn of Galax and Mrs. F.T. Parker of Barrington, Nova Scotia; three sisters, Mrs. Joe L. Scott of Franklin, Mrs. J.B. Short of Spiceland, Ind. And Mrs. W.E. Wallace of Augusta, Ga.; and seven grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. J.S. Peebles of Capron Methodist Church and the Rev. David S. Willis, Jr. of Asbury Methodist Church, Portsmouth. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin. ****************************************************************************** EDITH LEE JOHNSON KELLO Mrs. Edith Lee Kello, 59, assistant director of Wilson Inn, Methodist Home at 2205 Monument Ave., died Monday at a Richmond hospital. She was the widow of James R. Kello, Jr. and a native of Courtland. Surviving are two sons, J. Richmond Kello III of Courtland and R.F. Kello of Shelby, N.C.; two daughters, Mrs. J.J. Nunn of Galax and Mrs. F.T. parker of Barrington, Nova Scotia; three sisters, Mrs. Joe Scott of Franklin, Mrs. Vince Shortt of Sticeland, Ind., and Mrs. W.E. Wallace of Augusta, Ga., and seven grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Holland Funeral Home, Franklin, with burial in Poplar Spring Cemetery, there.
