Richard Kello, age 53 years, well-known farmer and lifelong resident of this county, died at Raiford Hospital Wednesday night after a week’s illness of pneumonia. Mr. Kello was the son of the late J. Richard Kello and Maria Vaughan Kello of Southampton County and husband of Edith Johnson Kello who survives him. Besides his wife he is survived by two sons, J. Richard Kello, Jr. and Francis Kello; two daughters, Maria and Glynn Kello, of Courtland; one brother, S.T. Kello; one sister, Miss Mattie O. Kello, both of Courtland, a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services will be conducted at the residence near Courtland Friday afternoon at 3 o’clock by Rev. Clifford Ramsey and burial will be in the family cemetery.
