KELLAM DIES SUDDENLY IN BERKLEY Henry W. Kellam, 47 years old, died very suddenly at the home of his mother, Mrs. Mary Douglas, in Payne Street, Friday night between 11 and 12 o’clock as the result of a stroke of paralysis sustained about five weeks ago. He had considerably improved from the attack and was thought to have been on the road to recovery, when he was taken suddenly ill and passed away. The deceased had been superintendent of the logging department of the Camp Manufacturing Company at Franklin, Va., seven years, and was looked upon as a very important and able man by the company. Prior to going to Franklin, he resided in Berkley with his family a great many years, he being well-known and highly esteemed here. His wife died several years ago and they are survived by six children, four sons and two daughters, all of Franklin; a mother and a sister, Miss Bessie Douglas, the latter in Payne Street. The deceased was an active member of High Street Methodist Church, Franklin, and held membership in the Masons, Red Men, Royal Arcanum and Odd Fellows. The remains will be forwarded to Franklin this morning over the Seaboard Air Line Railroad for funeral and interment at that place, which will take place this afternoon at 4 o’clock, with Rev. J.T. Green, pastor of his church, officiating. The various secret orders of which he was a member will take part in the burial services.
