CHARLES H. KNIGHT 

   Portsmouth Deaths 

  Charles H. Knight, of 118 Dinwiddie street, died at 3:45 o'clock yesterday 
afternoon after a short illness at the home of his sister, Mrs. J.L. Leavitt, 
642 Linden avenue, while on a visit to her. 

  Besides his sister, Mrs. Leavitt, he is survived by another sister, Mrs. 
J.S. Lawrence, of Murfreesboro, N.C.; a brother, George B. Knight, of Boykins; 
and numerous nieces and nephews. 

  Mr. Knight was a native of Boykins, but lived for 20 years at Lancaster, 
Pa., before moving to Portsmouth six years ago.  He was son of the late Mark 
J. and Mrs. Frances Britt Knight. 

  The body was taken to the Snellings Funeral Home pending funeral 
arrangements.

His widow Helena Hortense STEPHENS KNIGHT (1910 - 1985) 2m. John Oliverous 
   HARRISON in 1947.  She is buried with her parents in Beechwood Cemetery 
   - Annex 2, Plot 18. 

D.Cert. 20531 (Portsmouth #475) gives his mother's maiden name as 
   Frances (BRITT) KNIGHT.
