KNIGHT After months of sickness and suffering, Roger M. Knight died at his home here Saturday morning, December 2, in the 40th year of his age. Funeral services were held in the Methodist Church Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by the pastor, Rev. T.E. Johnson, assisted by Rev. H.P. Dalton of the Baptist church and were attended by a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends. The floral tributes were numerous and very beautiful. The interment was made in Beechwood cemetery and the pallbearers were: active B.F. Britt, E.R. Bryant, Walter H. Britt, J.D. Hart, S.J. Myrick, A.S. Francis, F.M. Powell and R.E. Barrett; honorary, W.W. White, Dr. J.M. Bland, H.A. Moore, E.H. Grizzard, J.W. Fleetwood, A. H. Hines and W.A. Powell. Deceased was the oldest son of the late Alex. Knight and Mrs. Katherine T. Knight. He is survived by a widow and three children, his mother, two sisters, Mrs. W.T. Edwards, and Miss Grace Knight, and three brothers, H.F., R.C. and A.L. Knight, all of Boykins. Born of honorable and upright parents and reared in a Christian home, it is not surprising that Roger Knight should have taken a prominent place in the commercial civic and religious life of his native town. As a merchant, a member of the town council, a teacher in Sunday school and a steward in the Methodist church he was faithful to each trust; in fact he was true to all the relations of life and there was genuine sorrow in all hearts when the news came that he had gone to his reward. The writer feels a sense of personal loss in his death and we desire to express to each sorrowing loved one our sincere and heartfelt sympathy in this hour of bereavement.
