Ben B. Ussery of Boykins Baptist Church and the Rev. Garland B. Sparks of Main Street Baptist Church Emporia. Burial was in Beechwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Turner Lassiter, Linwood Ricks, Irving Coleman Jr., Wilmer Lee, Frank Lee, Aubrey Lee, Linwood Lee and Rommie Lee. Lee, 82, a retired farmer, died Sunday in his home. A native of Bertie County, N.C., he was the husband of Lillie Ricks Lee and a son of Joe and Mrs. Sally Smith Lee. He was a member of Boykins Baptist Church. Besides his widow, surviving are four sons, Joseph S. Lee of Boykins, James H. Lee Jr. of Courtland, and Southgate Lee and Marion R. Lee of Emporia; a daughter, Mrs. Hazel L. Pulley of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; four brothers, William Anderson Lee, Eugene Lee, and Frank Norman Lee of Boykins and Joseph Paul Lee of Roanoke Rapids; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
