A lifelong resident of Southampton County, he was born on Dec. 5, 1908, the son of the late James Harvey Lee Sr. and Lillie Ricks Lee. Mr. Lee was the husband of the late Vida Crutchlow Lee, a retired farmer and a member of Boykins Baptist Church. He is survived by two daughters, Shelva Lee Cobb and her husband, Paul, of Drewryville, and Joyce Lee Andrews and her husband, Donald, of Dinwiddie; two brothers, James Harvey Lee Jr. of Courtland and Marion R. Lee of Emporia; six grandchildren, Donald Craig Andrews, Vernon Todd Andrews, Joseph Dale Andrews and his wife, Kirstin, Paula Cobb Day and her husband, Bill, Paul Alexander "Lex" Cobb Jr. and his wife, Miriah, and Joseph Mark Cobb and his wife, Katie; six great-grandchildren, Amelia Victoria Andrews, Weldon Alexander Nichols, Alexa Lee Nichols, Cullen Mark Cobb, Zachary Allen Cobb, and Paul Alexander "Alex" Cobb III. Graveside services will be held at Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins, at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Benjamin Thomas and the Rev. Charles Alvis officiating. Family and friends are welcome to visit at the residence of Shelva and Paul Cobb, 26393 Fox Branch Road, Drewryville, Va. Memorial donations may be made to Boykins Baptist Church, 32317 S. Main St., Boykins, VA 23827. Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, is in charge.
