ALVIN DIXON LEWIS

   Alvin Dixon Lewis, age 89 died September 21, 1986.  He was the widower of 
Mattie Grizzard Lewis.  He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Mary Martha 
McPherson of Roanoke; one son, Alvin Dixon Lewis, Jr. of Othella, Washington; 
two sisters, Mrs. Margaret L. Creasy and Mrs. Norma L. Stevenson, both of 
Wilmington, N.C.; ten grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren.  Funeral services 
11 a.m. Wednesday at the Echols Funeral Home Chapel, Emporia with interment in 
the Drewryville Cemetery, Drewryville, Va.  The family will receive 7-8 p.m. 
Tuesday at the funeral home.
