ELSIE LILLIAN SCHAEFER LEAKEY

   FRANKLIN - Elsie Lillian Schaefer Leakey, 92, died Jan. 4, in a nursing 
home.

   Mrs. Leakey, a native of New York City, was a member of Franklin Baptist 
Church.  She was the widow of William A. Leakey.

   Survivors include a daughter, Florence L. Edwards of Franklin; a brother, 
Robert C. Schaefer of Newport News.

  A graveside service was held Tuesday in Southampton Memorial Park by the 
Revs. Michael Clingenpeel and Ira Hudgins.  Memorial donations may be made 
to the Church of Franklin of the Franklin Rescue Squad.
