A native of Fitzgerald, Ga., he lived here 23 years. He was a carpenter. He was a son of the late Cornelius and Mrs. Sara Bagley Lassiter. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Kathleen Brand Lassiter; a sister, Mrs. Louise L. Jones of Portsmouth; and two brothers, Jerome Lassiter and Edward Lassiter of Suffolk. A funeral was held Monday in Beechwood Cemetery by the Rev. Ben B. Ussery of Boykins Baptist Church. McDowell Funeral Home had charge. Pallbearers were J.C. Blow, Hugh Powell, Jr., Benjamin Porter, Henry Ricks, Bob White, W.H. Britt, L.P. Clary Jr. and Hugh Drake.
