THELMA NEWSOME LAUGHTER

   CAPRON - A funeral service for Thelma Newsome Laughter, 67, was held at 
3:30 p.m. Sunday in Capron United Methodist Church by the Rev. Eric Alixie. 
Burial was in Capron Cemetery, with Owen Funeral Home, Jarratt, in charge.

   Pallbearers were: Lee Allen, Clay Francis, Vernie Francis Jr., Jim Miley, 
Walter Johnson Francis, Frances Barnes and Wallace Francis.

   Mrs. Laughter died Friday in Greensville Memorial Hospital.

   A native of Southampton County, she was a retired public health nurse for 
Sussex County and was a member of Capron United Methodist Church.

   Survivors include a daughter, Mary Jo Sullivan of DeSoto, Tex.

   Memorial donations may be made to the Capron United Methodist Church.
