ROSCOE LEE LUTER 

   WINDSOR - A funeral service for Roscoe Lee Luter was conducted Tuesday 
at 2 p.m. in Purviance Funeral Chapel Wakefield by the Rev. Harry Christie 
and the Rev. R.B. Garnet.  Burial was in Ivor Cemetery. 

   Pallbearers were Wesley Garner, T.J. Saunders III, O.E. Bradshaw, Roland 
Lewis, Sam Chilton Jr., T.M. Carr, C.H. Johnson, Morrison Butler and Fred 
Carr. 

   Luter, 64, died Sunday night in a Suffolk hospital after a brief illness. 

   A native of Southampton county he was a son of John S. and Mrs. Laura 
Bailey Luter and the husband of Mrs. Hazel Amos Luter.  He was a retired 
insurance agent. 

   He was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church. 

   Besides his widow, surviving are a son, R. Wallace Luter of Windsor; a 
daughter, Mrs. Heth P. Percival of Richmond; and two brothers, John Sam Luter 
of Hampton and Joseph W. Luter of Ivor.
