Burial was in Capron Cemetery. A native of Southampton County, he was the husband of Mrs. Beulah Joyner Lamb and a son of Benjamin and Mrs. Rena Whitehead Lamb. He was a farmer and a member and former deacon of Capron Baptist Church. Besides his widow, surviving are two daughters Mrs. Barbara Goodrich and Mrs. Alice Montgomery of Richmond; five sisters, Mrs. Lillian Parker of Franklin, Mrs. Daisy Parker and Mrs. Dolly Byrd of Suffolk, Mrs. Ruby Jordan of Courtland, and Mrs. Willie Winston of Durham; a half sister, Mrs. Annie McCann of Crewe; a half borther, Johnnie Lamb of Durham, N.C.; and three grandchildren.
