He was married to Mrs. Ilma [sic*] Hart Lankford of Gulfport and was a son of the late John Robert and Mrs. Mary Vaughan Lankford of Franklin, Va. Lankford was a native of Franklin and had been living in Venezuela for several years as an employee with the Creole Petroleum Co. Surviving besides his wife, are two sons, Charles Lankford, Jr. [sic*], and Jarvis Lankford, and one daughter, Janice Lankford, all of Gulfport. His eldest son was John Robert LANKFORD, III. The middle child was daughter Janice Ilva (LANKFORD; Mrs. Pete) HOUSE; the youngest, Jarvis Hart LANKFORD. Charles' parents, John Robert {1889-1930} and Mary P. (VAUGHAN) LANKFORD {1880-1956} are buried in Poplar Spring Cemetery (Section 2, Plot 2A), Franklin.
