Lankford of Walters, who died last Thursday at Raiford Hospital here, were held Saturday afternoon at Black Creek Baptist Church, Rev. R.E. Vellines, pastor of the church, being assisted in the services by Rev. J.T. Garland Moore, pastor of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. Several hymns were sung by the church choir, Rev. and Mrs. Moore singing a sacred duet. Burial was made in the church cemetery. Mrs. Lankford, who was 21 years of age, is survived besides her husband, by a son, David Mason Lankford; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Martin of Milwaukee, N.C.; and five brothers, Craven, Lloyd, Croman and Troy Martin of Milwaukee, and Roy Martin of Woodland, N.C. Active pallbearers were Craven, Roy and Troy Martin, and R.M. Mitchell, J.D. Harcum and G.D. Lankford. Friends of the family were honorary pallbearers.
