A native of Southampton County, she was the wife of Aubrey Lankford and the daughter of Mrs. Harriett Joyner. She was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church. Other survivors include two sons, Steven W. Lankford and A. Paul Lankford, both of Franklin; four sisters, Mrs. Eunice Blythe, Mrs. Pearl Darden, and Mrs. Lois Edwards, all of Franklin, and Mrs. Rose Whitehead of Smithfield; two brothers, C.M. Drewry of Goldsboro, N.C., and Elliott Drewry of Franklin. A funeral service will be held today at 2:30 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. James Luck. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery.
