Lankford Franklin, Aug. 8 - Oliver Grant Lankford, 83, lifelong resident and retired farmer of Southampton County, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. H.A. Blythe, on Walnut Street, this morning after many months of ill health. Mr. Lankford was the husband of the late Mrs. Effie Lankford, of this county. Besides Mrs. Blythe, he is survived by another daughter, Mrs. E.K. Blythe, of Sedley; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one half- sister, Mrs. Susie Turner, of Franklin, and one half-brother, Livey Beale, of Franklin. The body was taken to the funeral home of W.J.M. Holland and Sons, of Franklin, where funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 4:30 p.m., the Rev. Elmer N. Hassell and the Rev. William A. Grissom will officiate. Burial will be in the family cemetery near Franklin. ****************************************************************************** OLIVER GRANT LANKFORD Oliver Grant Lankford, 84*, a life-long resident and retired farmer of this county, died at the home on Walnut Street of his daughter, Mrs. H.A. Blythe, on Friday morning, August 8, after many months of illness. The deceased was the husband of the late Mrs. Effie Lankford of this county. Besides Mrs. Blythe he is survived by another daughter, Mrs. E.K. Blythe of Sedley; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a half-sister, Mrs. Susie Turner of Franklin; and a half-brother, Livy Beale, also of Franklin. Funeral services for Mr. Lankford were conducted in the chapel of W.J.M. Holland & Sons on Saturday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock by Revs. Elmer N. Hassell and W.A. Grissom, followed by interment in the family cemetery near Franklin. The pallbearers were Arthur Carr, Elijah J. Joyner, J.D. Owen, Harvey Lankford, Sr., Reginald R. Lankford and V.C.
