Lankford, son of Mrs. Indiana Lankford and the late Andrew Lankford, died at his home in this community November 8, in his twenty-first year. He was an industrious and worthy young man and is survived by his mother, three brothers and one sister. The funeral services were conducted from the home on the following day by Rev. H.H. Butler and Dr. C.H. Rowland and interment was made in the family burying ground. Samuel H. LANKFORD, d. 8 Nov 1918, at home, age 21, interred in the LANKFORD family cemetery*, Sedley Rd., 9 Nov 1918, "The Tidewater News" (Franklin, VA), Nov. 15, 1918, p. 2 *Near the Dixie Plant Farms sheds; is parents were also buried there. Her great-nephew Guy EDWARDS was acquitted for the shooting, 16 May 1935.
