FRANKLIN - Funeral services for Samuel W. Lankford, Jr., 52, who died Wednesday morning in Norfolk, were conducted Friday morning at 11 o’clock in the H.D. Oliver Funeral Home, Norfolk by Rev. Vivian Evans of Chesapeake. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin. Mr. Lankford, a native of the Franklin community, was the son of the late Samuel W. and Mrs. Clara Cotton Lankford of Southampton County and the husband of Mrs. Lee Wilson Lankford of Norfolk. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Bennie Bland of Richmond and Mrs. Sam Woods, Mrs. Henry Walker and Mrs. Williams Thompson, all of Norfolk; and four brothers, Hudson Lankford, William Lankford and Aubrey Lankford, all of Franklin, and Royce Lankford of Nashville, N.C. Pallbearers were William, Aubrey and Royce Lankford, Sam Woods, Bennie Bland, Bill Thompson, Harry Walker and Jesse Frank Vaughan.
