Holland & Sons Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Robert D. Fridley of High Street United Methodist Church and the Rev. C. Warner Crumb, administrator of the Hermitage Methodist Home in Richmond. Interment was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers were Hubert S. Rawlings Jr., F. Story Cutchins, Edward Gilliam, Jack G. Holland, Thomas C. Holland, G. Hinson Parker and Dr. Henry L. Gardner. Mrs. Maxey, 79*, died Friday morning in Richmond Memorial Hospital after a short illness. A native of Essex County, she was the daughter of Frank P. Mundie and Mrs. Mary Susan Andrews Mundie, and the widow of the Rev. John Spears Maxey, Methodist minister. A member of High Street United Methodist Church, she made her home at the Hermitage in Richmond for the past several years. Surviving are one grandson, Major Ferrell Franklin Powell Jr., serving with the Marines in Vietnam; two great-granddaughters of California and several nieces and nephews.
