Magee, aged 66, died Monday morning, August 7, at her home on Fourth Avenue after a long illness. She had been a resident of Franklin for 32 years. Surviving are one son, Linwood Magee, two grandchildren, Gilliam and Russell Magee; and a sister, Mrs. E.C. Jernigan*, all of Franklin; also by a niece and nephew. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at four o’clock at the Congregational Christian Church by the pastor, Dr. W.T. Scott. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery, with the following acting as pallbearers: L.B. Norfleet, Wesley H. Beale, E.L. Beale, R.C. Councill, J. Letcher Eley, and R.E. Coggsdale. (Ancestry.com "Virginia Marriages") Her sister "Zinnie" Elexenia HOWELL {1866 - 1937} m. William James JERNIGAN. They were buried at home, Reynoldson Dist., Gates Co., NC. Cora Mae was the daughter of John W. & Mildred Ann (HOWELL) HAYES.
