The deceased was the son of the late Vernon Lee and Florence Joyner Magee of Southampton County. He was a member of deacon of Thomas Memorial Baptist Church in Drewryville. Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Bessie Stark Magee, and one daughter, Miss Ruth Benton Magee, both of Drewryville; and three brothers, M.T. Magee of Colerain, N.C., J.L. Magee of Jacksonville, Fla., and M. Magee of Stony Creek. Funeral services were conducted at the Thomas Memorial Baptist Church on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock by the pastor, Rev. H.B. Jennings. Interment was in the Drewryville Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Robert Claud, Drewry Cobb, Alton L. Grizzard, William Leigh, P.J. Mattox, Donald Murfee, Amos Pope and F.C. Pope.
