Holland & Sons Funeral Home, Franklin, by the Rev. Harold Fuss. Burial was to Riverside Cemetery, Courtland. Pallbearers were Kindred Magette, Beamon Davis, Ben Williams, Sidney Williams, Joe Magette, Lon Davis and Robert W. Riddick. Magette Sr., 65, died Friday morning in his home. A native of Southampton County, he was a son of Robert Lee and Mrs. Josephine Davis Magette and the husband of Mrs. Grace Williams Magette. He was a member of Courtland Methodist Church and a Navy veteran of World War I. Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Robert Lee Magette of Smithfield, Raymond W. Magette of Ahoskie, N.C., and Davis C. Magette of Courtland; a daughter, Mrs. Dudley Harrell of Courtland; a brother, Leroy Magette of Courtland; and four grandchildren.
