All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ EZRA CHESTINE MAGETTE Ezra Chestine Magette, 83, a resident of the Courtland community for many years, died in a Williamsburg hospital on Monday, November 15, after several years of failing health. A member of the Courtland Methodist Church, he was the son of the late Eldridge Chestine and Louisa Kindred Magette of this county. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Roland L. Vaughan of Courtland and Mrs. John O. Haslett, Jr., of Franklin; two sons, E.C. Magette, Jr., of Exmore and Joseph K. Magette of Courtland; and five grandchildren. Last rites were conducted at the grave in Riverside Cemetery on Wednesday afternoon at 4 o'clock by Rev. C.A. McCormick, Jr., pastor of the Courtland Methodist Church. Pallbearers were J.N. Hale, Leroy Magette, Robert Magette, John W. Rollison, S.C. Waddill and John Williams.
