All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ WILLIE HORTENSE WILLIAMS McDONALD Mrs. Willie Hortense Williams McDonald, 51, wife of John Birt McDonald, died late Tuesday afternoon in Raiford Memorial Hospital after a short illness. She was the daughter of Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Hudson Williams, who now resides in Greenville, N.C. and the late Robert D. Williams. A native of Swan Quarter, N.C., she had lived in Franklin the last 16 years. She formerly lived in Roanoke Rapids, N.C. She was a member of the Swan Quarter Presbyterian Church. Surviving besides her husband and mother, are one son, John Robert McDonald of Elizabeth City Beach, Shiloh, N.C., and three grandchildren; eight sisters, Mrs. Ina Mae Mincher of Franklin; Mrs. Owen Cahoon of Portsmouth; Mrs. Mary Bell Bugg of Roanoke Rapids; Mrs. Francis Woolard of Greenville, N.C., Mrs. Lucy Mallard of Williamston, N.C., Mrs. Marie Jenkins of Jacksonville, N.C., Mrs. Dottie Gray Brannar of Newport News and Mrs. Nelda Ray Hodges of Newfoundland; two brothers, Lloyd Williams of Greenville and Robert Williams of Idaho, and nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at the W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home today at 4:30 p.m. by the Rev. John S. Steele, pastor of the Franklin Presbyterian Church. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers were Wilford Davidson, Norman Edwards, Edward Tuck, Edward Gavin, Robert Gavin and C.J. Sykes. Willie Hortense (WILLIAMS; Mrs. John B.)
