Ira D. Hudgins. W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home was in charge. Pallbearers were Cotton McClenny, James Lawrence, Richard Lawrence Jr., Bradford McClenny Jr., Watkins Johnson, C.H. Edwards, Jeff Copeland, and Pete Copeland. McClenny, 76, a retired dairyman and farmer, died Tuesday in his home after a brief illness. A native of Southampton County, he was the husband of Mrs. Garnette Davis McClenny and a son of Montrose G. and Mrs. Leona Johnson McClenny. He sold his business in Norfolk a year ago. He was a member of Franklin Baptist Church and its Men’s Bruner Class. Besides his widow, surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ann McClenny Copeland of Richmond; a son, Montrose D. McClenny of Indianapolis, Ind.; two sisters, Mrs. Clarice Lawrence of Franklin and Mrs. J.R. Peele of Lewiston, N.C.; a brother, Letcher McClenny of Virginia Beach; and five grandchildren.
