All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ JOHN MONROE McCLENNY John Monroe McClenny, 69 years of age, died at his home, Sedley, Sunday after an illness of several weeks, funeral rites being held Monday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock in the Sedley Baptist Church. Dr. W.T. Scott of the Franklin Christian Church was the officiating clergyman, assisted by Rev. James R. Stein of the Sedley Friends Meeting. He was the son of the late James M. and Mrs. Marietta Rowe McClenny, and is survived by one brother, R.L. McClenny of Franklin; three sisters, Mrs.* Jennie McClenny of Sedley, Mrs. Leona Lowe of Suffolk and Mrs. Ida Rawlings of Hopewell. Burial was made in the family cemetery at Sedley, the pallbearers being: R.S., J.A., J.E. and J.D. McClenny, Jr., G.T., Alton and W.W. Cobb.
