PATTIE EDWARDS WILLIAMS McLEMORE

MRS. McLEMORE, 81, WELL-KNOWN CITIZEN OF COURTLAND DIES

   Mrs. Pattie Williams McLemore, 81 years of age, died Wednesday night on 
arrival at Southampton Memorial Hospital.

   She was the widow of Harvey Burton McLemore, former Clerk of Courts of 
Southampton County for many years, and the daughter of Junius W. and Mrs. 
Mary Elizabeth Edwards Williams of Southampton County.

   She was a member of the Courtland Methodist Church.

   Surviving are three sons Harvey Burton McLemore, Jr. of Courtland who 
succeeded his father as Clerk of Courts of Southampton County, Reginald W. 
McLemore of Richmond and William Thomas McLemore, 2nd of Norfolk, one 
daughter Mrs. Katherine McLemore Weede of Avondale Estate, Georgia; three 
sisters, Mrs. M.T. McLemore, Mrs. Bessie W. Wills and Mrs. Eunice W. Westbrook 
all of Courtland; ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

   A funeral was conducted Friday at 2:30 p.m. in the Courtland Methodist 
Church by the pastor the Rev. Byron S. Hallstead.  Interment was in Riverside 
Cemetery.

   Pallbearers were R.B. Story, Jr., James T. McLemore, Jr., Edwin Westbrook, 
Hennen McLemore, Hall F. Birdsong, Jesse A. Weede, Jr., and Frank Story 
Cutchins.
