He was the husband of Mrs. Minnie Hancock McClenny and the son of the late James Madison and Mrs. Maretta Rowe McClenny of Southampton County. Mr. McClenny was a native of Southampton County and had been a resident of Franklin for the past twenty-eight years. He was a member of the Franklin Congregational Christian Church and a member of the Woodman of the World. Surviving besides his wife, are two daughters; Mrs. W.K. Morefield of Hopewell and Mrs. Randolph Porter of Franklin; three sons, Robert S. McClenny of Chester, James A. McClenny of Handsom and Capt. Ernest B. McClenny of Ft. Lawton, Okla.; three sisters, Mrs. Leona Lowe of Suffolk, Mrs. E.R Rawlings of Hopewell and Miss Jennie McClenny of Sedley; twelve grandchildren and 6 great- grandchildren. The body was taken to the W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home. Funeral services will be announced later.
