Maddrey, died suddenly last Saturday morning at her home in Second Avenue here. Although in failing health for several years her condition was not considered grave at the time, and her passing came as an unexpected shock. Mrs. Maddrey was the daughter of the late Spear R. Wood and Fannie Bailey Wood of Greensville County. Besides her husband she is survived by two sons, L. Bailey and K. Rollin Maddrey of Franklin; a brother, Mort Wood of Florida; four sisters, Mrs. Viola Richling of Lynnhaven; Mrs. Esther DeLoatche, Mrs. R.E. Barrett and Mrs. Sallie Edwards, all of Boykins, and several nieces and nephews. Services were conducted at the grave in Poplar Spring Cemetery here Monday morning at 11 o’clock by the Rev. R.D. Stephenson. Pallbearers were Dr. Beamon Story, J. Edgar Weede, Ellsworth Jones, Edward F. Gilliam, John T. Duke, C.M. Edwards, R.S. Edwards and R.E. Barrett, Jr., of Boykins.
