All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ LEROY LINWOOD MADDREY Leroy Linwood Maddrey, 74, for many years a resident of Franklin, died Thursday afternoon at his home on Second Avenue here. Mr. Maddrey had been in failing health for several years. He was the son of the late Kenneth R. and Emma Long Maddrey of Northampton County, N.C., and was husband of Mrs. Fannie Bailey Maddrey, who died two years ago. He was a member of Franklin Baptist Church and of the Bruner Bible Class, in which he as active until his health failed, and of Holly Camp No. 18, Woodmen of the World. Surviving are two sons, L.B. and K.R. Maddrey; two grandsons, Linwood and James Maddrey, all of Franklin; one sister, Mrs. D.M. Woodard of Conway, and four brothers, J.N. and C.J. Maddrey of Severn; R.E. Maddrey of Burlington, and C.K. Maddrey of Pendleton. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at the grave in Poplar Spring Cemetery. The Rev. R.D. Stephenson, pastor of the deceased, will officiate. Pallbearers will be John E. Beale, R.J. Howell, E.A. Davis, E.K. Brinkley, Geo. Watkins, M.G. Councill, R.H. Powell, Jr., and V.K.
