Miles, was born April, 14, 1848, and departed this life June 13, 1923. She is survived by her husband, W.H. Miles; two sons, W.E. and L.M. Miles; four daughters, Mrs. Junius Britton, Mrs. Paul Derby, Mrs. Pugh Holland and Mrs. Lula Holland; twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. All these "rise up and call her blessed". She had been a loyal and consistent member of the Methodist Church since her early life. She was quiet and unassuming in her religious life, which was mostly spent in her home ministering to her loved ones. She was a devoted wife and mother and lived to see all of her children in the church, following her example. She was confined to her room and bed for several months previous to her passing away, but she bore her sufferings with patience and resignation to the Divine Will. She suffered much but it must have been comforting to her to see and realize the thoughtful and loving care bestowed on her by her family. They did all in their power to make her comfortable and we are sure that in her mother’s heart she felt amply repaid for the sacrifices she had made for them. The home is sad and lonely without her, but she is resting just across the river and will wait and watch for her loved ones till they too shall pass over and be with her. May they so live that there will be on missing link. The funeral services were conducted from her home by her Pastor, Rev. H.J. Paylor, and her grandson, Rev. L.J. Derby, and she was laid to rest in the family burying ground in the presents of many relatives and friends. She loved flowers and if she could have seen those place by friends, on her casket, she would have been satisfied. The pallbearers were E.F. Drake, Dt. S.J. Railey, V.K. Daughtrey, R.S. Maddrey, J.T. Bryant, J.W. Bryant, L.O. Bryant, and J.C. Brett. Eveline (CHANNELL; Mrs. William H.)
