LEWIS MILTON MILES

   Lewis Milton Miles, 68, a resident of Franklin for the past six years, died 
in Raiford Memorial Hospital early Friday morning, October 24, after an 
illness of several months. Mr. Miles was the husband of Mrs. Cebrille Lankford 
Miles and son of William H. and Evaline Channell Miles of this county.  He was 
a member of New Hope Methodist Church.

   In addition to his wife, he is survived by one sister, Mrs. Catherine 
Britton of Portmouth.

   Funeral services were conducted on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at New 
Hope Church by the pastor, Rev. O.L. Gochenour, and Rev. R.H. Marks.  Burial 
followed in Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin, the pallbearers being Rosser 
Bryant, William Drewry, Lewis Gray, N.P. Holland, Forrest Lankford, John 
Lankford, Foushee Railey and G.S. Walker.
