He was the husband of Mrs. Lulian [sic; Lulyan] Outland Miles and a son of the late George W. and Mrs. Georgia Gray Miles of Southampton County. The Southampton County native was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. Other survivors are two sons, Cecil Lee Miles of Carrsville and Reuben Wilson Miles of Suffolk; three daughters, Mrs. Archer Spivey of Carrsville, Mrs. Francis Cox of Smithfield and Mrs. Philip Beckett of Calais, Maine; and a brother, C.A. Miles of Charlottesville. A funeral service, arranged by W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home, Franklin, was at Beaver Dam Baptist Church at 4 p.m. Tuesday. Burial was in Beaver Dam Cemetery.
