Mr. Milteer was the husband of Mrs. Kate Edwards Milteer, who survives him. Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Miss Anne Milteer, of Franklin; one step-son, Herman Bowles, of Washington; two sisters, Misses Maggie and Julia Milteer, and one brother, Jack Milteer, of Whaleyville. Funeral services will be held at the residence Monday morning at 11 o’clock by the Rev. A. McK. Reynolds. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery. ****************************************************************************** James Vernon Milteer, 68 year-old resident of Franklin, died suddenly of heart attack at his home on Walnut Street at about 1 o’clock Saturday afternoon. Mr. Milteer had made his home here for the past 23 years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Katie Edwards Milteer; a daughter, Miss Anne Milteer; a step-son, Herman Bowles of Washington; two sisters, Misses Maggie and Julia Milteer, and one brother, Jack Milteer of Whaleyville. Services were held at the home Monday morning at 11 o’clock by the Rev. A. McK. Reynolds of High Street M.E. Church. Burial took place in Poplar Spring Cemetery, pallbearers being C.C. Blythe, J.A. Beaton, W.R. Fowler, Will Rawls, John E. Beale, F.W. Wellons, L.A. Whitley and W.H. Jones of A.
