We find this particularly true in the death of William Moyler, who was laid to rest in beautiful Poplar Spring Cemetery Wednesday afternoon. Coming here as a stranger eight years ago, we found William Moyler to be a young gentleman of such unusual courtesy and consideration to others that we became interested in him and loved him even as the whole town loved him and grieves now with his people in their over- whelming loss. His congenial and sunny disposition made friends for him everywhere, and his high character and fidelity to that which was true and noble won the esteem and admiration of those friends. He leaves with those who loved him an untarnished record of a useful Christian life - the greatest consolation that can come to us in such afflictions, and helps us to become reconciled to what could otherwise hardly be borne. William Moyler was in his twenty-seventh year and was the son of Mr. J.E. Moyler and his first wife, who was Miss Helen Massenburg of the well-known Southampton family of that name. His father has been for many years a traveling salesman in Virginia and North Carolina, and he as associated with him in that business for some time. Later he became second vice-president of the Parker Manufacturing Company of Suffolk, holding this position until a short while ago. In December 1909* he was happily married to Miss Cora Cobb, daughter of Dr. R.H. Cobb of Franklin, who survives him with a little daughter, a sweet and attractive baby, Helen Cobb Moyler. He is also survived by a sister, Miss Rebe Moyler, a step-mother and one half-brother, Edward Moyler. He received his education at Randolph-Mason College and V.P.I., Blacksburg, and was a member of the Kappa Alpha fraternity. He was also a member of the Illinois Commercial Travelers Association and of the Suffolk lodge of Elks. For several months he had been in the west and south-west seeking health, and returned from Denver, Colorado, last Friday, accompanied by his father, who went to Denver to bring him home. His spirit passed quietly away Tuesday morning, April 22nd, and before the final summons came he had told his loved ones that he was not afraid to go. He was consistent member of the Franklin Methodist church, from which the funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock by his pastor, Rev. C.E. Blankenship, assisted by Dr. H.E. Johnson of Charlottesville, a former pastor of the Methodist church here, and by Rev. J.L. McCutcheon of the Baptist Church. The venerable Doctor Johnson made a talk in which were intermingled a touching tribute to the life of the young man, consolation and comfort to the bereaved members of his family, and a message of renewed faith to every heart in the house. Mrs. Jon. N. Sebrell, Jr. of Norfolk sang "Art Thou Weary?" during the service. The interment was made in Poplar Spring Cemetery and many beautiful flowers covered the mound. The active pallbearers were: Roger Beale, Walter Norfleet, B.E. Parker of Suffolk, Dr. T.J. Pretlow of Newport News, Asa Biggs of Norfolk, Ryland Camp, J. A. Pretlow and Geo. H.
