Mrs. H. P. McManis Rites Conducted 

  BOYKINS - A funeral service was held at Boykins Baptist Church Thursday at 
2:30 p.m. by the Rev. Ben Ussery, pastor, and Geneva Park Church of Christ, 
Portsmouth.  Burial was in Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins.  Pallbearers were 
Thomas Warren, Marshall Smith, T.R. Griffin, O.W. Kirkland, Archie Lee, 
James Cogsdale, Paul Camp Marks and Bobby Marks. 


Hattie Pearl (SMITH WARREN GLASCOW; Mrs. James William Clinton) McMANIS, 
b. 18 Apr 1897, Southampton Co., d. 15 Dec 1959, Suffolk, 
interred in Beechwood Cemetery (Annex 1, Sect. F, Plot 11/12*), Boykins, 
   17 Dec 1959,

*Buried with her first husband Walter Roy WARREN (1891-1938); birthdate wrong 
   on his gravestone.  Her parents, "Nat" Nathaniel Thomas & Emma Lou 
   (JOHNSON) SMITH, are buried in Annex 1, Sect. F, Plot 12.

Her third husband d. 30 Dec 1959, of Addison's disease & carcinomatosis. 
   D.Cert. 32026 (Chuckatuck #337) gives b. 31 Oct 1889, MO, bu. Phoenix, AZ; 
   but his gravestone shows b. 31 Oct 1887; bu. Glendale Memorial Park, 
   Glendale, Maricopa Co., AZ. 

Her second husband, John Isaac GLASCOW (1877 - 1950), is buried in 
   Forest Hills Cemetery, Rocky Mount, Nash Co., NC.
