A lifelong resident of Franklin*, she was a daughter of Samuel and Mrs. Cornelia Warren Bell. She was a member of Franklin Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Sadie M. Cogsdale* and Miss Virginia Murray of Franklin; two sons, Samuel D. Murray and Walter L. Murray of Norfolk; a sister, Mrs. Annie Holloway of Richmond; and three grandchildren. A funeral service was conducted Sunday at 3:30 p.m. in Poplar Spring Cemetery by the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins of Franklin Baptist Church. Pallbearers were Lee Person, H.M. White (Surry Co. M.Reg. {BVS copy} 1897 p. 409 {#6}) The cemetery list (citing 1900 & 1920 Census) indicates her daughters were born in Surry Co. Sadie's married name should read COGGSDALE. She is buried in Section 1, Plot 68A. Virginia is unmarked, and could be in either plot; she has been added to the list in her sister's plot.
