Born in Carrsville, Va., she was a daughter of the late Sherman Butler and Berta Copeland Butler Duke. She retired after 25 years of service from First Virginia Bank where she was an administrative assistant. Mrs. Moore, a 1946 graduate of Carrsville High School, was a member and past president of the Portsmouth Chapter of the Order of Rebekka. She was a past Scoutmaster for the Cub Scouts and was active in Little League Baseball. Mrs. Moore was also active in the campaigns that resulted in her son, William S. Moore Jr., being elected into the House of Delegates and his subsequent appointment as a judge of the Juvenile and Domestic Court in Portsmouth. Survivors include her husband of 53 years, William S. "Smitty" Moore; a son, the Honorable Judge William S. Moore Jr., and his wife, Sharon, of Portsmouth; a sister, Hazel B. Bradshaw of Carrsville; a brother, Russell Butler of Joppa, Md.; and two grandchildren, William S. Moore III and Landon K. Moore. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin, with the Rev. Ron Rice officiating. The family will receive friends at the residence at 211 Pennington Blvd. and suggests that memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association, c/o Mary Frances Newsome, P.O.
