BESSIE ESTELLE MARKS

   COURTLAND - Funeral services for Bessie Estelle Marks, 96, were held 
Saturday in Capron cemetery by the Rev. Van E. Cash.  Echols Funeral Home had 
charge.

   Pallbearers were grandsons of the deceased.

   The widow of Aubrey P. Marks died Thursday in Southampton Memorial Hospital.

   She was a native of Southampton County and a member of Vincent Grove 
Methodist Church.

   Survivors include two daughters, Carrie M. Turner of Capron and Virginia M. 
Fink of Hopewell; a son, Paul W. Marks of Courtland; two sisters, Mary W. 
Johnson of Conway, N.C., and Bernice W. Taylor of Suffolk; 10 grandchildren; 
21 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
